well, it may, but if you don't it will cost one plane ticket home

Apply for an extension BEFORE your Visa expires. Once it expires, you have to apply for a new Visa and you can't do that from inside Canada. A good friend of mine was deported and missed an entire semester. As soon as they received her application they gave her 24 hours to leave. On this page from the Canadian Immigration site, it states clearly, "If your study permit has expired, and you have not applied for an extension, you must leave Canada.' There does seem to be a fee involved.

I've been paying my Canada Student loan 5 yrs but still have 6K left. Is there a way to pay less of it?
I'm curious if there's a debt relief program, where a part of my student loan may be forgiven or waived. I've been diligently paying my loan at a rate of 100 dollars per month.

Welcome to my world. the average student loan for a Canadian student is 10 years of paying minimum payments based on a 30-40 thousand dollar loan. the interest kills, that is why they suggest to pay about 10 to 20 dollars more then the minimum requirement. it kills the interest faster and you hit prinicple faster. I started that about 2 years ago and now I have takin a year off already and have been paying it faster. If you want to pay less on the loan you can contact the national student loan centre and they will evaluate your earnings compared to what you owe and currently pay them and if they feel that you qualify for a decrease in monthly payments they will grant an decrease or what they call a 6 month grace period on repayment where they allow you to have 6 months interest free no repayment. some sites include www.hrdc-drhc.gc.ca/student_loans www.aved.gov.bc.ca/studentservices

I know that some places you need to be a citizen of Canada to work because they require proof of citizenship and your Canadian social insurance number but you could try applying for a student work permit.. as for salary --> the minimum wage depends on what province you are planning on working in..the wages very from at least $8.00 - $10.00.. and the working limit would probably just be generally 40 hours.. after that you get into over-time hours and most employers don't allow you to go over because they have to pay you time and a half... but here's the Canadian Government site that should help you out, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work.asp hope i was some help! good luck!

Any international issue or law in Canada, is the same in every "province".You can study and get a "work permit" just whenever you get accepted into the university or college and you start your studying, the government of Canada needs from you a transcript from your previous semester(s) based on what you studied in Canada. Then you can apply part time job easily. you will wait to for an answer for like 1 and half months max. Edit: Salaries are only 9 max per hour. good luck
