How soon before class starts can one get a student visa in Canada?
If I want to attend class in fall 2011 could I apply for a student visa now and move there this spring or summer?

I think student visas are only for when you are actively attending school there, so to answer your question simply, no you can't. You have to apply for your school and get accepted and then go through the visa part then.

If you are indian then you should have dual citizenship. If your wife is "married" to you then she should also have the right to come to Canada, unless she has a criminal record.

SUPPOSE ONE GOT STUDENT VISA OF USA FOR FIVE YEARS BUT THEN HE DECIDES NOT TO GO TO USA BUT WANTS TO APPLY FOR CANADA.CAN HE DO SO?

no one stops you from doing so if you want to go and study in canada and not in US. you should ave solid reason why you want to go to Canada to study and not US.

Is it possible to get all the residency documents to study in Canada on a 2.7 high school GPA from a charter school in the US??? Medical school?

no. to immigrate to canada you must be a skilled worker you can get a student visa to study but you will pay international student fees

What you need to do is apply to a college or university and get accepted, then apply for a student visa. The grade point average is the concern of the college, not immigration. Most colleges do not go just by your grade point average, but on the scores on whatever college entrance exam they use. with that grade point avg., you would need to do very well on the entrance exam.

You have to ask the college in Canada to which you are thinking of applying. However a 2.7 GPA will not get you any special attention and you would have to pay the full shot. And to get into med school, you generally need a 3.3 to 3.5 GPA for your undergrad degree.
