I am indian national living in Dubai, my student visa last year was declined due to "social factors". My later i got UK student visa but i came back from uk and now i want to apply again for canadian student visa. Pls advise....as i have lettter from uni in canada and sufficient funds for 2 years study and living costs in canada......what else embassy will see..............advise....thx

Can an american get student loans to attend a graduate school program in Canada?
The american library association has masters degree programs in Library Sciences in Canada. I want to go because I want to eventually emigrate to Canada from the U.S. but I would need student loans to do it. Would I be able to receive those?

NO. You CANNOT do that. You must remain in the U.S. to use the student loans. Face it, you're not moving to Canada. It's EXTREMELY hard to immigrate to Canada, you need to have a bachelor's degree or higher, you have to take this really hard test, basically unless you're a scientist or some sort of outstanding doctor, you won't be allowed to immigrate to Canada, just as it is for immigration to the U.S. It's a pipe dream buddy. Give up and move on. Besides, you don't want to live in Canada because trust me, it isn't what it seems. I lived there for a while and hated it.

You have to prove you have sufficient funds for all of your school expenses (tuition, fees, books & supplies, room & board if living in the dorms on campus, etc), plus all of your living expenses (rent, utilities & household expenses if not living in dorms during the school term, insurance, transportation, personal expenses, food, etc), plus transportation back to your own country. School expenses of course depend on which school you go to. Living expenses in Toronto are among the highest in Canada - you will need at least C$3000/month for rent, utilities, groceries, household expenses at the very least, more if you need a car to get around, plus insurance, gas, maintenance and repairs.

you have to be able to pay all the fees, books and study materials for the course you are doing - and for international students they can be as much as $50,000 (and more sometimes) per year - it depends on the course. you also have to have money to LIVE ON while you are studying - $30,000 per year is good. It has to cover rent, food, clothes, utities, bills, transport, entertainment, medical requirements, etc etc plus money to get home with after you graduate.
