A child born in Canada is a citizen thereat. Thus, even when the parents are only possessing student visas, their child will be a Canadian citizen.

If your child is born in Canada, he or she is automatically entitled to citizenship and that means that they can have a Canadian passport. They will also have a Birth Certificate from the province they were born in.
