What is the best thing to do when apply for a Student Visa for Canada? How much money should I prepare?
I am planning to go to Canada to study culinary and work part time at the same time to support my studies. Although, I am a Psychology grad i want to pursue a different field... What are the requirements to apply for this visa? Do you also know any culinary schools who offer scholarships to foreign students? Can i work while studying? Any information that could help me find a good and affordable school...

all information regarding Canada immigration that you need can be found in www.cic.gc.ca good luck

you CANNOT work part time while you studying full time. You must have enogh money tio support yourself during the entire course. Looking at a minimum of $2000 per month NOT including tuition fees. This is in Canada. First you need to apply to a culinary school in Canada and be accepted. George Brown college in Toronto has one of the best programs. The school will send you an acceptance letter. You then fill out the application for a study visa and include a copy of the acceptance letter. You MUST also have proof that you already have enough money to support yourself while you are studying.

yes you can work while studying. , you can work on or off campus..... To work off campus, you must apply for a work permit. Do not begin to work off campus until you have received your work permit. The work permit authorizes you to work up to 20 hours per week during regular academic sessions, and full time during scheduled breaks (for example, winter and summer holidays, and spring break). You may work on campus at the institution where you study without a work permit if: you are a full-time student at: a public post-secondary institution, such as a college or university, or a collège d’enseignement général et professionnel (CEGEP) in Quebec a private post-secondary institution that operates under the same rules and regulations as a public institution, and receives at least 50 percent of its financing for its overall operations from government grants (currently only private college-level educational institutions in Quebec qualify) or a Canadian private institution authorized by provincial statute to confer degrees and you have a valid study permit.

I think you consult some Law Firm like Goldman Associates. You will get a better advice for your query.
2 :
To obtain dependent visas for you and the 2 children, your spouse on the student visa has to prove not only that she has sufficient funds to pay all of her school and living expenses, she would also have to prove that she has sufficient funds (without working!) to provide for the living expenses of you and the two children. Also, if you have been working and supporting your wife while she goes to school, that eliminates her source of support under her student visa, and it could be grounds for revoking her student visa. With a spouse on a student visa, you will likely have difficulty obtaining a tourist visa to visit her since there is presumption that you would intend to remain with your spouse. It is also cheaper for one student to fly home for school holidays than fly 3 people to Canada to visit her. Your best bet is to remain in Pakistan, work, support your wife's school & living expenses, and ensure she returns to Pakistan as soon as she leaves school. This whole thing is going to look to immigration authorities as if you got one into Canada so you can get the rest of you in through a "backdoor immigration" scam.

Wife going to Canada en student visa. Can I go with her even though I have a DUI here?

Wife going to Canada en student visa. Can I go with her even though I have a DUI here?
I got a DUI charge on Feb. 2008. My wife will be going to Canada to do her masters degree in July, I understand that on the application she will fill out she can ask for me to get a Temporary visa to go with her. My question is, will my DUI be a problem for me to go with my wife to Canada? Or they will allow me to go with her regardless? Thank you for your help!

i think they're more worried about crimes like assault, murder and drug related crimes or if you spent more than a year in prison, dui seems to be a lesser sort of crime a friend of mine got into australia with a dui i know canada might be different, i recommend ringing the canadian embassy in your country and asking, but honestly i think you'll be grand.

That's a felony in Canada. It will be a problem.
3 :
your wife can probably go to canada and study but YOU may not be allowed to go as you are the one with the felony record.
