Canadian education is cheap in general, but you're going to need to learn grammar and spelling first. Take an English 12 or equivalent course wherever you are and make sure you get an A in it. Good use of English is mandatory in Canada. You lack that. In Canada we have three tiers of education: College, University-College and University. College is the cheapest and it's the equivalent of your community college. You can get an education for $2,000/year. However if you go Canadian, it's better to go to University instead. For $3,000-$4,000 per year you can get the same level of education as a state university, and for $6,000 a year you get an Ivy-league equivalent. You just have to be exceptionally good to get in.

What is the cost of living in Canada for a student?
What is the cost of living in Canada for a student?
Hi! I m working as Asst. Accountant in dubai and looking forward to do Graduate Diploma from a university in Alberta or Toranto . I haven't decided yet, so can anybody guide me which state will be suitable and less expensive. How much will be the Rent, Food and other Misc. Expense per year beside the tuition fee?

Alberta will be cheaper than Toronto. If you can economize--live in small quarters and eat cheaply, you can probably get by on $1200 Canadian per month. If you want your own apartment and to eat well, $2500.

Oh, I am not sure that Alberta will be cheaper than Toronto. Alberta is currently experiencing a major boom in their economy due to oil prices. Friends have moved from toronto to Edmonton and are sleeping in their van because rents on a bachelor (1 room) are over $1500/month -- if you can find one. Best thing for you to do is to contact the university where you plan to go and ask for the international student office or advisor. They are accustomed to assisting students from overseas and can tell you local prices and costs of living in a more realistic fashion than we can.

Getting a student loan for an American to study in Canada?
Getting a student loan for an American to study in Canada?
What kinds of student loans can an American potentially receive to study in Canada? Do federal loans like the stafford apply, or would I have to go entirely private? Thanks!

If the Canadian school is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (most, if not all Canadian universities are), you'll be eligible for the Stafford Student Loan and your parents will be eligible for the Parents PLUS Loan. The website below offers a high level roadmap for American students applying to school in Canada --- from how to find your school ... available funding .... legal documentation needed .... and even a packing list. I hope this helps. Good luck!
