If you have a student visa to usa, can you go to canada?
So my friend has a student visa to the usa, and his family is going to canada, can he go there and come back perfectly fine with no problems? My friends from columbia, and he's coming to the us tomorrow, and wants to leave on wednesday to canada, how long does it take to get a visa to canada?

Sure if he also has a passport if coming by plane (or car)or some other form of ID if coming by car (like a photo ID driver's licence or birth cert etc) Good Luck``

He'll need his passport, the student visa in good order and unexpired, and a tourist visa to enter Canada for his vacation.

Your friend will need their passport, an unexpired F1 visa (for re-entry into the U.S.), their I-20 (with the 3rd page signed by the DSO) and of course a separate visa to Canada if they are citizens of country which requires one.
