Living on student visa in Canada, from when can I apply for my immigration to Canada?
I am a graduate student living in Canada on student visa with study permit visa and I want to apply for my permanent immigration. However, I don't know where I can start applying for my permanent immigration. It would be great if you could provide sources for your answer too. Thanks.

you cannot apply for PR status until after you have graduated and worked in Canada for 12 months on a post grad work permit, in a full time job that is related to your degree. Once you have done the 12 months in a full time job, then you can apply for PR but you must stay on the work permit and keep working. Processing for PR in this category so far is taking more than 12 months This is called the Canadian Experience class. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/index.asp

For now, you have a student visa which mean that you can't work unless you work on the campus (university). To have a better answer, you have to tell us what is your country of origin... But with the info we have, I would suggest you to apply as a skilled worker, but you will lose your student status... If you have relatives (mom/dad or kids) in Canada, it is different... If you are a US citizen, you have other options. It depends from where you are from... France and Quebec have their own agreements too... www.cic.gc.ca/

You need to return to your country of origin and apply for immigration from there. You cannot apply for a different visa from within Canada.
